Spirit of Australia Gallery is the only Aboriginal art gallery in Surfers Paradise.
The gallery offers a unique collection of traditional and contemporary Aboriginal paintings of Central Australia’s most famous artists like Walangkura Napanangka, Gloria and Jeannie Patyarre, Ronnie Tjampitjinpa, Abie Loy and along with the more contemporary and modern aboriginal art of Yondee, Trisha Mason, Colin Wightman and others.
Spirit of Australia Gallery also offers the biggest collection of didgeridoos on the Gold Coast. Over 200 authentic termite eaten didgeridoos are on display and the gallery offers free lessons of playing didgeridoo to customers willing to learn.
You will also find a large variety of jewellery made of wood, bone, jade and an impressive collection of black, crystal, metrix and boulder opals mined from Cooberpedy, Alanrise and Opalville.
Also available are traditional oilskin jackets and leather hats for the harsh Australian outback along with hand dyed, tie dyed and printed licensed Aboriginal apparel.
A wide range of other distinctively Australian products such as boomerangs, pottery, wood carvings, crocodile and kangaroo leather accessories (belt, wallets, necklaces, bracelets, bags, whips etc.), Australian made toys and sheepskin footwear (UGG boots and slippers) are offered at the gallery.
